Con il lancio della nuova gamma di cartonatrici automatiche con sistema “pick & place” della serie ACP ERGON, SMI entra nel settore del confezionamento in scatole di cartone RSC (il cosiddetto “cartone americano”) e offre alla propria clientela una valida alternativa al classico imballaggio in scatole di cartone wrap-around.
La scelta tra scatola wrap-around e cartone RSC dipende da una serie di fattori legati al tipo di prodotto da imballare, alle strategie commerciali, alle esigenze logistiche e distributive e alla velocità della linea di produzione.
Basti pensare ad esempio al peso e alla forma dei contenitori, agli schemi di palettizzazione adottati, agli obiettivi di marketing, al budget a disposizione oppure alla necessità o meno di esporre la confezione sugli scaffali dei punti vendita.

Compattezza strutturale ed ergonomia
Le nuova cartonatrici ACP si caratterizzano per una solida struttura monoblocco al cui interno sono raggruppate tutte le funzioni della macchina: separazione prodotto, inserimento nelle scatole con caricamento prodotto sfuso dall’alto, magazzino cartoni, chiusura scatole.
Il processo di confezionamento è di tipo alternato (stop & go) e si avvale di un sistema “pick & place” in grado di realizzare confezioni RSC alla velocità massima di 20 pacchi/minuto (in funzione del formato)

Grazie al sistema “pick & place”, le nuove cartonatrici SMI sono adatte a confezionare anche prodotti molto delicati ed esclusivi come vini, spumanti e liquori, senza rovinare le etichette delle bottiglie di vetro durante la lavorazione in macchina.
Grazie all’estrema versatilità della serie ACP, i prodotti da imballare possono anche essere sovrapposti all’interno delle scatole RSC, che, inoltre, sono molto robuste e resistenti (top load elevato).
Facilità di gestione e automazione avanzata
Le nuove cartonatrici “pick & place” di SMI sono dotate della tecnologia di automazione e controllo MotorNet System® basata su bus di campo Sercos, in grado di fornire all’impianto totale compatibilità con le piattaforme Industria 4.0 e Internet of Things (IoT).
I modelli ACP ERGON sono disponibili in due versioni: con chiusura della scatola tramite nastro adesivo (ACP S) oppure con colla a caldo (ACP G).

With the launch of the new range of automatic case packers with pick & place system of the ACP ERGON range, SMI got into the packaging in RSC cases (the so-called American cardboard box), thus providing customers with a valid alternative to traditional packaging solutions in wrap-around cardboard cases.
The choice between wrap-around and RSC boxes depends on a number of factors related to the type of product to be packed, to commercial strategies, to logistics and distribution needs and to the speed of the production line.
Just think, for example, of the weight and shape of containers, of the palletizing patterns used, of the marketing objectives, of the budget available or of the need or not to display the package on the shelves of retail points.
ADVANTAGES OF ACP SERIES
Compact and ergonomic structure
The new ACP case packers feature a solid monobloc structure that combines all the machine functions: product separation, loose product insertion with top loading system, carton magazine, case sealing.
The packaging process is alternate (stop & go) through a pick & place system, capable of making RSC packs at the maximum speed of 20 packs per minute (depending on the format).
Versatility of use and product protection
ACP range can pack several types of products, such as bags and packs of pasta, rice and coffee, as well as oval containers (shampoo, liquid soap and detergents) and briks (tea, juices), simply by changing the gripper/suction cup.
Thanks to the pick & place system, the new SMI case packers are also suitable for packing very delicate and exclusive products, such as wines, sparkling wines and liqueurs, without damaging the label during processing in the machine.
Thanks to the extreme versatility of the ACP series, the products to be packed can also be stacked inside RSC cases, that are very robust and resistant (high top load).
Ease of control and advanced automation
The carton magazine is placed next to the machine, thus allowing to load the pre-folded blanks in an easy and ergonomic way.
The new SMI pick & place case packers are equipped with MotorNet System® automation and control technology based on Sercos fieldbus, that makes the plant fully compliant with Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) principles.
ACP ERGON models are available in two versions: with tape sealing (ACP S) or hot melt glue sealing (ACP G).
