SACMI torna protagonista a K 2025, la più importante fiera mondiale per l’industria della plastica e della gomma, in programma a Düsseldorf dall’8 al 15 ottobre 2025. Al centro della proposta, SACMI PURECAP™, il progetto di economia circolare per la creazione di una filiera sostenibile basata sull’impiego di rHDPE, polietilene ad alta densità riciclato e certificato foodgrade.
CCM64MD, la più veloce di sempre, idonea per rHDPE
Protagonista dello stand SACMI sarà la nuova CCM64MD, la pressa a compressione più veloce di sempre – sino a 2.850 capsule al minuto con 64 stampi – idonea per lavorare miscele contenenti HDPE riciclato. Durante speciali demo, i visitatori avranno l’opportunità di vedere la pressa in azione, dedicata alla produzione di una capsula 26/22 GME30.28 tethered per acqua realizzata con resina riciclata fino al 50%.
SACMI PURECAP™: anticipare le norme, costruire la filiera
Il progetto SACMI PURECAP™ nasce anche per dare una risposta concreta alle evoluzioni normative europee e internazionali. A fronte di un obbligo normativo già in vigore sul PET, è previsto entro il 2030 l’obbligo di contenuto minimo di resina riciclata anche nelle chiusure beverage, con una quota iniziale del 10% (Regolamento PPWR – Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation). SACMI intende guidare questo cambiamento con l’obiettivo di offrire una filiera industriale completa, dalla selezione del materiale riciclato fino alla capsula finita, pronta per il mercato.
Come funziona
Nell’ottica SACMI, il processo individuato è quello del riciclo meccanico, meno impattante rispetto al riciclo chimico, sia in termini economici che di emissioni di CO2. La plastica riciclata impiegata proviene in prevalenza da filiera beverage, un’opportunità favorita dalla crescente diffusione del nuovo standard tethered che favorisce il conferimento del tappo insieme alla bottiglia.
Le scaglie vengono selezionate e separate sia per polimero che per colore, quindi estruse, sottoposte a un processo di decontaminazione e pellettizzate. Il materiale così ottenuto è sottoposto a test funzionali e meccanici sia presso laboratori esterni che nel Rigid Packaging LAB di SACMI, sia in forma di granulo che di capsula, al fine di garantirne le prestazioni.

PURECAP rappresenta un’estensione naturale della proposta di valore SACMI. Oltre alla macchina, allo stampo e al design della capsula, l’azienda si è posta l’obiettivo di fornire una ricetta di produzione, che include l’equilibrio ottimale tra plastica vergine e riciclata (gestibile direttamente sulla CCM) e la quantità di colorante per ottenere la cromia desiderata.
Tra i vantaggi, oltre al risparmio di plastica vergine in proporzione alla quota di rHDPE presente nella ricetta, la soluzione consentirebbe una riduzione della quota di emissioni sino al 50% per ogni kg di resina riciclata.

«Close the circle with SACMI». The green transition starts with caps: SACMI PURECAP™ to make its debut at K 2025
SACMI will soon be back in the spotlight at K 2025, the world’s biggest plastics and rubber industry trade fair, to be held in Düsseldorf from 8 to 15 October 2025. At the core of the proposal is SACMI PURECAP™, the circular economy project that aims to create a sustainable supply chain based on the use of food grade-certified rHDPE (recycled high-density polyethylene).
CCM64MD, the fastest ever, suitable for rHDPE
The highlight of the SACMI stand will be the new CCM64MD, the fastest ever compression molding press (up to 2,850 capsules per minute with 64 molds), able to process input resin mixtures containing recycled HDPE. Visitors can attend demos and see the press in action as it produces 26/22 GME30.28 tethered caps for water, produced with a recycled resin content of up to 50%.
SACMI PURECAP™: anticipating standards, building the supply chain
The SACMI PURECAP™ project also aims to provide an effective response to European and international regulatory developments. In addition to the standards already in force for PET, by 2030 there will be a minimum recycled resin content requirement for beverage closures, with an initial quota of 10% (PPWR Regulation – Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation). SACMI intends to take the lead here, the aim being to offer a complete industrial supply chain, from recycled material selection to finished market-ready caps.
How it works
SACMI uses a mechanical recycling process that has less impact than chemical recycling, both in economic and CO2 emissions terms. The recycled plastic comes mainly from the beverage supply chain: note that ever-more widespread use of the new tethered standard, which encourages the disposal of caps together with bottles, makes it easier to source the plastic.
Flakes are selected and separated by polymer and color, then extruded, decontaminated and pelletized. The obtained material then undergoes functional and mechanical testing both at external labs and at SACMI’s Rigid Packaging LAB, in both pellet and cap form, in order to guarantee its performance.
From consulting to industrialization: all the SACMI LAB services
PURECAP is a natural extension of the SACMI value proposition. In addition to the machine, the mold and the cap design, the company has set itself the goal of providing a production recipe that establishes the optimal balance between virgin and recycled plastic (controllable directly on the CCM), the colorant parameters needed to achieve the desired color and CCM production line settings.
In addition to virgin plastic savings (proportional to the amount of rHDPE in the recipe), this solution also has the advantage of reducing emissions by up to 50% per kg of recycled resin.
